Brainpop - Great resource STEAM lessons and free during COVID-19 school closure. MIT-K12/Khan Academy - Short explanations to many science, math, and engineering questions. Like why do we fart and what is snot? Lynda - Online courses in a range of topics. You can access it for free through your free account with Washington County Library Services.
Soundwich - Study the physics of sound with this engineering project. Garageband - Learn how to use Garageband on your iPad to mix and make music from household sounds.
3-D Design
Rhinoceros-3D - Try the evaluation version for free for 90 days. This is the software widely used in schools in Oregon. Not iPad friendly. FreeCAD - This one is free. However, like Rhino not available on iPad. Fusion 360 - Free for students. Can be used on iPad. Check out courses on Lynda. (See above.) Understanding the 4th dimension - Carl Sagan demonstrates the differences between 2D, 3D and 4D realities.
Gapminder - Being able to present data using latest technologies in a way that easy to understand and deepens our knowledge is an important and growing field. It is important for students to be able to use and create data visualizations. Check out this awesome website.
